Media
Media is what you use to create your art piece. Take a pencil it's not the pencil it self but the lead inside, which means that it not the tool it's the thing it self creating
the shade. For example the paint would be the media not the paint brush. Medium is in the middle not to BIG or small, just average.
Art class VALUE Feb.26
What is value?
In art class today I learned what value is. Value is everywhere and we don't always realise it, value is easier than it seems. We can lok at value as light and dark. We know what stuff is because of value. Value is sometimes mixed up with colour but that not true. Value is the shadows and the way they project.
Value
1. Value in art means a lot. Value is needed in many art pieces. Value creates the shadows and dimension needed and without that it would be hard to tell what the artist was trying to show or create.
2. Without value you wouldn't be able to tell what the texture is.
3. Scribble hatching, cross hatching, shading, dotting and out lining.
4. You build value by making the shadow darker or lighter depending on what the shadows for.
5. We see value everyday in shadows. Shadows are the main way people notice shadows. We can see value better when squinting.

Line
The element of Line
1. How does the author define "line"????
Lines are every where.Lines can and are used to crate words, symbols, and numbers. Lines are also an element of art, which crates a path with a moving point thought space.
2. What is required to make line? (This must be pretty important if
it is so closely linked to line!!)
A line needs width and length. The width is usually smaller than the length. A line can also have dimension.
A line requires movement.
A line requires movement.
3. What is "dimension"???
Dimension is the amount of space in one direction an object takes up. Two dimensional mean an object has height as well as width. Three dimensional means the object has height, width, and depth.
4. List many ways that artists create line.
Artists can make lines in many different way. Artists can simply use a pencil and a piece of paper or scratched into clay.
5. Define an "outline" and an "implied" line.
Outline is a line crated to to show the outer edges around a shape or an object.
Implied line are crated to catch the viewer attention and automatically connect to that point.
