This mask took a lot of time and hard but we are finally done and they look great. I am happy with  the out come of my mask. The hardest part was getting the plaster around the swirls. The part i enjoyed most was the painting i just loved mixing and combinding the colours. I loved this project even thought it was messy at times.

The creature represents the good and the bad and how there is good within the bad and bad within the good; sometimes more on one side then the other. When there is too much good the creature creates a shadow of darkness. When there is too much bad the creature creates swirls of happiness. This creature is two faced it can’t choose a side creating balance within.   Black hides, while white brings to light. What black covers, white uncovers.  White is colour at its most complete and pure, the colour of perfection. The color meaning of white is purity, innocence, wholeness and completion. The colour meaning of black is dark.

Shapes with positive/negative space

Right now we are taking normal objects and placing them to have positive and negative space within. Basically we put down an object and put another one in front creating the positive and negative space. Negative space is when there is nothing in that area. Positive space is the space occupied by an object or thing.

Mirror art work

The last week I have been working on my mirror art work in class. I have a little bit of a hard time doing cursive. The hardest part is the mirror image of the art work because you have to use your eyes to tell where every thing goes instead of using a real mirror or a rule. You really have to focus and try to get as close as you can to a real mirror image. The letters that troubled me was the lower case "a" and the "c", mostly just in the mirror image but it was little difficult doing it in the normal way too.

Magazine Projet

I have been working on creating value within my magazine project. I would think the hardest part is creating the face and the details needed for it. One of the major things I need to pay attention to is not to make solid lines within my work instead I have to make thing seem complete, not just a couple shapes or lines on a page but a face within the art work. My work keeps looking closer and closer to being finished, just a few key things I have to work on to make my art complete.

Media

Media is what you use to create your art piece. Take a pencil it's not the pencil it self but the lead inside, which means that it not the tool it's the thing it self creating the shade. For example the paint would be the media not the paint brush. Medium is in the middle not to BIG or small, just average.

Art class VALUE Feb.26

What is value? In art class today I learned what value is. Value is everywhere and we don't always realise it, value is easier than it seems. We can lok at value as light and dark. We know what stuff is because of value. Value is sometimes mixed up with colour but that not true. Value is the shadows and the way they project.
